During his youth he was actively involved in hockey, volleyball, soccer, and baseball. It was through his sport-related injuries that Dr. Bernath became intrigued with the human body. This led him to complete his undergraduate education at the University of Western Ontario where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with an honors specialization in Kinesiology. After graduating from Western with distinction, Dr. Bernath completed the four-year Doctor of Chiropractic program at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. During his time at CMCC, he also completed training in clinical acupuncture. During her undergraduate program, she was a Varsity swimmer for the Lady Vees, and competed at four CIS championships and the 2012 Olympic Trials.
